Position: Production Supervisor - Various Shifts

Reports to: Director of Manufacturing

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• • Ability to supervise across all shifts in a 24-hour production environment
• Supervise, coach and lead skilled labor positions, including machining and welding
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, employees are effectively trained in hazard awareness, prevention and all safety rules and programs, and ensure complete compliance
• Ensure employees are effectively trained in their assigned areas and that they approach their work in compliance with current the programs, procedures, and policies
• Manage employee performance continuously and complete employee evaluations as required
• Recognize and reward employee whenever appropriate and correct, coach and discipline as necessary
• Ensure conformance to quality standards
• Work with Engineering & Quality Assurance teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production problems
• Minimize waste and cost, by managing productivity, scrap and consumables
• Generate improvement ideas and implement changes in processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency, improve safety and quality, reduce costs, and improve employee morale
• Assign production schedules to ensure that production plans are met
• Manage employee attendance
• Ensure adherence to Company policies, SWPs (Safe Work Procedures) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Maintain Shop Floor cleanliness through good housekeeping practices and participate in the 6S program
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

• Experience supervising, leading, coaching, team-building and training within a fast-paced and technically demanding manufacturing environment required
• Proven ability to achieve deadlines in a dynamic and challenging environment by effectively organizing, prioritizing and executing
• Experience with machining, welding, assembly and/or industrial paint-line operation
• Developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Experience in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs - specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
• Post-secondary education in Industrial Relations or Supervision
• Ideally possesses a designation as a Certified Engineering Technologist (Mechanical), or equivalent training and experience
