Global Procurement Specialist

Position: Global Procurement Specialist

Reports to: Vice President, Product Integrity and Supply Chain

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Utilizes data analysis, business intelligence, and reporting tools to forecast supply and material needs.
• Ensures procurement activities achieve established goals and assist all other functions in the company, especially for manufacturing operations in both North America and globally, in achieving their quality, schedule, inventory and cost goals.
• Manages relationships with vendors to ensure quality standards are attained and maintained, timely delivery of product and services at a competitive cost.
• Actively participates in improving procurement processes to reduce the total cost of acquisition, improve service levels, reduce and recover the cost-of-poor-quality.
• Enters and updates PO`s within our ERP system, ensuring data aligns with updates from vendors. Updates pricing within ERP system as required.
• Coordinates/manages the purchasing activities for prototype product.
• Reviews and resolves shortages and expedites shipments as required.
• Ensures quality controls are followed and material complies with specifications.
• Liaises with Supply Quality Assurance to initiate and ensure compliance with expected protocols, including Corrective Action Requests, 8D`s, PPAP`s; and the processing of non-conforming product.
• Manages the material implications of Engineering Change Requests.
• Prepares, issues and evaluates RFQ`s.
• Generates and provides vendor material forecasts and update internal lead-times.
• Reviews and resolves invoice discrepancies.
• Travels internationally as required. Travel is expected to be occasional with varied trip durations that at times could exceed two weeks. Note that business travel is always subject to health and personal safety considerations which are continuously monitored and always respected.
• Actively participates in various cross functional teams.
• Conducts all activities and executes all duties with enthusiasm and a positive, results- focused attitude.
• Supports Company initiatives and policies enthusiastically.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

• Relevant international purchasing experience within an organization in the manufacturing industry.
• SCMA/APEX/ASQ education/training required, ideally possesses a CSQP or SCMP designation, or actively working towards either.
• Post-secondary education within commerce, engineering, mechanical technology disciplines is desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices is considered a definite asset.

• Ability and willingness to travel freely across international borders, including those within Asia.
