Production Planning Coordinator

Position: Production Planning Coordinator

Reports to: Production Planning Manager

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Position Summary:
The Production Planning Coordinator prepares production schedules for the manufacturing operation to ensure customer delivery objectives are met in an efficient and timely manner. Works to ensure materials, equipment and personnel are used in the most efficient manner to achieve production targets and ensure 100% on time delivery.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
• Works collaboratively with other Planners, as well as Customer Service, Purchasing, Engineering and Production to create a production schedule in support of customer delivery requirements.
• Prepares and assembles manufacturing information packages including drawings, Bills of Materials and routings for all aspects of production.
• Monitors production progress against the production plan and takes corrective action, when necessary, to ensure on time delivery.
• Conduct all activities and execute all duties with enthusiasm and a positive, results-focused attitude.
• Support company initiatives and policies enthusiastically.
• Continuous Improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

• High school diploma.
• Post-secondary education in Business Administration or similar is preferred.
• Training or education in hydraulic systems, fluid power systems, manufacturing and design systems are considered assets.
• Experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Planning/production coordinator experience is ideal.
• APICS Certification is preferred.

Skills and Attributes Required:

• Highly motivated, self-starter. Demonstrated ability to adhere to tight schedules with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build credibility and strong partnerships at all levels.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong sense of urgency with proven record of following through to meet deadlines and commitments.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and other common applications.
