Facility Maintenance Person – Entry Level
Job Description:
- Perform general repair and maintenance tasks including:
- Filter replacement
- Furniture repair
- Inventory maintenance
- Meter readings
- Sidewalk maintenance
- Fire extinguishers
- Basic plumbing
- Washroom maintenance
- Racking and shelving
- Coolant disposal and recycling
- Mechanical room maintenance
- Fan cleaning and repair
- Lubrication
- Air leaks
- Equipment TPM
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist other departmental team members with maintenance and repair activities
- Perform general cleaning and facility housekeeping duties to maintain an orderly work environment
- Participate and comply with training initiatives as required by management
- Comply with all safety regulations and policies
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience Required:
- Completion of high school diploma or recognized equivalent
- Strong mechanical aptitude including demonstrated experience with hand and power tools
- High sense of urgency with proven record of meeting strict deadlines
- Related industrial/mechanical education considered an asset
Skills and Attributes Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated team player with demonstrated organizational and time management skills
- Ability to self-direct and troubleshoot while working with minimal supervision
- Ability to read and understand technical documents
- Must be capable of meeting physical requirements including frequent, bending, reaching, lifting, climbing, crouching, etc.
- Ability to work all shifts, with willingness to be on call and work overtime on an occasional basis
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance strongly preferred
